FBO shipment preparation covers a batch before handoff to a marketplace warehouse. Agree on contents, packaging, labels, boxes or pallets and the dispatch date. This guide helps you brief your fulfillment center and check batch readiness before departure.
Confirm the model and shipment plan first
In a warehouse model, the platform receives a batch for subsequent storage and order handling. Ozon uses FBO, Wildberries uses Warehouse WB (FBW), and Yandex Market uses FBY. The broad approach is similar, while shipment types, documents and requirements differ. See the FBS and FBO guide for comparison with individual orders.
In the selected platform’s account, check product eligibility, register the shipment using current procedures and choose an allowed type, destination and date. Where a receiving slot is required, agree on it with the carrier. Allow preparation time for clarification and possible repacking.
What to provide to your fulfillment center
- Platform, model, shipment identifier and current instruction version.
- SKUs and variants, quantities, required barcodes and mapping to platform identifiers.
- Receiving results and available stock; required inspections, sorting or repacking.
- Selected shipment type, product, box and pallet requirements, materials and grouping.
- Label files and documents, matching cargo packages and a process for confirming package count.
- Readiness deadline, destination, transportation date and a contact for changes.
Use the warehouse brief template. If the batch is still arriving at fulfillment, agree on receiving and contents checks in advance; account for the pre-dispatch period in your storage plan.
Choosing boxes or pallets
Boxes
Confirm permitted dimensions, weight and contents for each box under the selected shipment type. Prepare an item list, protect goods against movement and damage and leave an accessible location for the required label.
Pallets
Check base, height, weight, box arrangement and cargo securing requirements. Clarify SKU grouping rules, label accessibility and loading and unloading arrangements along the route.
Use the platform’s current rules for the selected destination to obtain dimensions and limits. One model’s requirements do not automatically apply to another. Product and transportation packaging serve different purposes; see the packing and labeling guide.
Match labels to products and cargo packages
Separate product, box, pallet and shipment identification according to platform rules. Provide current files and a clear mapping of each label to its product or package. Confirm print format and label placement.
If contents or package count changes after packing, reconcile physical cargo with shipment records and update affected files using platform procedures. Check label readability and matching before departure. Agree separately on mandatory product marking codes, where applicable, and the ability to handle them.
Reconciliation example: three boxes and thirty units
Illustrative batch PREP-208:
- Box 1 — SKU-A: 12 units.
- Box 2 — SKU-A: 8 units.
- Box 3 — SKU-B: 10 units.
Total: SKU-A — 20, SKU-B — 10; thirty units in three boxes. Check the total and each SKU, then match boxes to labels and shipment records.
This is an illustrative list, rather than a universal permitted packing layout. If boxes are palletized, confirm the shipment type and package count for the platform, documents and transportation separately. Supply dimensions and weight after final packing; palletization alone does not determine the required labels.
Checklist before marketplace warehouse dispatch
- Shipment, destination, date and any required receiving slot match the trip plan.
- SKUs, variants and quantities have been checked; discrepancies are resolved before dispatch.
- Products, boxes and pallets meet current requirements for the selected shipment type.
- Physical cargo packages match shipment records, labels and required documents.
- The carrier has final dimensions, weight, package count and loading and unloading details.
- Handoff, a change contact and a method for obtaining trip results are agreed.
Brief the carrier using the ready order and shipment delivery guide. If the date, destination or batch contents change, update instructions and confirm preparation and transportation before departure. Afterwards, reconcile platform receiving results using its procedures; warehouse readiness and actual receiving are separate stages.
Batch preparation at Shipperty and pricing
Shipperty fulfillment helps prepare batches through receiving, storage, picking, packing and label application using agreed details. Warehouse: 10 Avtomobilny Proezd, Building 5, Moscow; contacts and directions.
Pricing depends on selected operations, product and processing object counts, materials and storage. Use warehouse rates and the fulfillment cost guide. Ready shipment transportation is priced separately using delivery rates. Platform services and fees are also separate.
Questions and answers
Where should FBO shipment preparation start?
Confirm the platform, model, product eligibility and shipment type. Register it using platform procedures and select the destination and date, then supply the fulfillment center with batch contents, packaging requirements, labels and readiness timing.
Can the same box and pallet rules apply to every platform?
Check dimensions, weight, contents and labels against current rules for the selected platform, shipment type and destination. FBO, FBW and FBY describe similar warehouse approaches but do not make requirements identical.
Does one pallet always mean one cargo package in shipment records?
Confirm package count and labels for the selected shipment type and platform documents. Separately give the carrier actual box and pallet counts, dimensions and weight. Palletization itself does not replace shipment record preparation.
Does batch preparation include transportation and marketplace receiving?
Warehouse work and transportation are priced separately. After preparation, agree on delivery, the date, destination and required documents. The platform performs actual receiving under its rules; reconcile results after handoff.
